Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Evidence-Based Day Treatment

When substance use or mental health challenges begin to interfere with daily life, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) can provide the structured care you need—without requiring overnight stays. At Compass Recovery Center in Prescott, Arizona, our PHP offers a comprehensive, clinically driven schedule designed to support lasting recovery while allowing you to return home or to sober housing in the evenings.

What Is PHP?

A Partial Hospitalization Program is a high level of outpatient care that blends the intensity of residential treatment with the flexibility of living offsite. PHP is ideal for individuals who need more structure than traditional outpatient programs but don’t require 24/7 supervision. Clients attend treatment five days a week, typically for around six hours per day, and engage in individual therapy, group sessions, education, and evidence-based practices focused on long-term healing.

Who Benefits from PHP?

Our PHP program is ideal for adults who:

  • Need consistent, structured support while living at home or in sober housing
  • Are transitioning from inpatient or detox and want a step-down level of care
  • Struggle with both addiction and mental health conditions (dual diagnosis)
  • Require more intensive care than IOP or standard outpatient therapy
  • Want to maintain employment or family responsibilities while in treatment
This is not something to face alone. Drug abuse, especially long-term use, changes the body’s chemistry. Safe withdrawal requires medical knowledge, emotional support, and a plan.

How Long Is PHP?

Length of stay varies based on each person’s clinical needs. Some clients benefit from several weeks of PHP before stepping down to IOP or outpatient services. Others may need more extended care to build a stronger foundation. Our team works closely with each individual to create a plan that’s both realistic and effective.

Whole-Person Healing

Beyond clinical therapy, our program includes holistic supports that help prepare clients for life beyond treatment. PHP is about creating balance, offering deep therapeutic work while helping clients stay connected to the outside world. We support building routines, improving communication, and gaining confidence in everyday situations.

Is PHP Right for You?

If you’re looking for a structured program that allows you to live offsite while receiving intensive daily care, PHP may be a great fit. Whether you’re continuing after detox or stepping down from inpatient treatment, PHP offers a balance of flexibility and focus to keep your recovery moving forward.
